Cooking Tip of the month

January
What better way to show a cooking tip for comfort foods than the month of January. When cooking foods like soups, stews, gumbo, and chowders, as you let the broth simmer, place your meats, vegetables and or fish in the Nu-Wave Oven according to cooking chart. Not only will your food will be more moist instead of dried out, this will save you more time and less dishes than if you were to cook everything on the stove top.

February
Make the perfect Valentine's Dinner in the Nu-Wave Oven. Lobster Tails and Steak can be placed directly on the 4 inch rack. Consult your Quick & Easy Cooking Guide for detailed power level and cook time instructions. Need to melt butter? No problem! Put butter in an oven safe dish and place on the 1 inch rack. Cook on power level 8 for about 2 minutes until the butter has fully melted. Caution, bowl will be hot.

March
Did you know the Nu-Wave Oven also can replace your toaster? Place Bagels, English muffins or bread on the 4" rack and cook on high for about 4 minutes. To cook a great Grilled Cheese sandwich, place your grilled cheese sandwich on the 4" rack (try it without butter on the outside of the sandwich, tastes just as good) and cook on high 3-4 minutes per side.

April
With Easter right around the corner here is the best way to cook your ham and eggs! To cook a ham: The cooking time is only 15 minutes per pound! You can cook up to a 8 lb ham without the bone and when you use the extender ring you can cook up to a 14lb ham with the bone. Place the ham on the 1" rack. For best results, flip the ham 1/2 way thru and place your glaze over the ham for the last 5 minutes of cooking. You can still baste your ham with the juices right in the liner pan. If browning occurs before the cooking is complete, place foil over the ham. Hard boiled eggs: No need to boil! Place your eggs on the 1" rack, cook on power level 9 for 10 minutes. When cooking is complete, remove eggs promptly and let sit until completely cooled.

May
With Graduations, Mother's Day and summer vacations approaching, it seems like there is even less time for the most important meal of the day; breakfast. With the Nu-Wave Oven you can now enjoy a flavorful breakfast without having to go thru a drive-thru. When I am on the go, I like to take a flour tortilla, sprinkle some cheese, ham, a couple of peppers (anything that you feel like placing on this breakfast is great in the Nu-Wave) right on top of the tortilla. Place it on the 4" rack, and in 2 minutes you have a great tasting breakfast. Not only does the Nu-Wave save you time, it doesn't dry out your food like a microwave oven.

June
Grilling season is here and what better way to grill than with the Nu-Wave Oven! Not only does Italian Sausage, Brats and Burgers turn out perfect every time, (even from frozen), you can also roast your favorite vegetables right on the 4" rack without over charring a perfect vegetarian meal. If one person enjoys meat and the other enjoys vegetarian, no problem, go Nu-Wave! Place your favorite meats on the 4" rack right along side of the vegetables and the foods do not mix!

To make your cleanup even easier, place a piece of Foil on top of the Liner Pan. Next place the grill (1" or 4" inch) on top of foil and tuck in edges. When cooled you can just wrap up the foil and toss the remains.

July
What better time of the year than to make Corn on the Cobb in your Nu-Wave Oven! No need to boil the corn, burn on the grill and end up with poor results! Just place your ears of corn on the 1" or 4" rack, cook on HI for 4-5 minutes on each side. You will have the best tasting corn on the cob ever!

August
College students, High School, Grade School, what do they have in common? They all are hungry after a long day at school! And the Nu-Wave Oven is just the life saver for this occasion! Frozen snacks turn out perfect in the Nu-Wave Oven. Just place appetizers on the 4" rack, cook anywhere from 2 - 9 minutes according to directions, flip in between cooking time and you will have great tasting snacks without the added grease or bland taste you would get if you made these in the oven or microwave.

September
Football season is starting up and this recipe is a great snack to bring over for those pre-season tailgating parties. Not only is this a great dish to pass, clean up is a breeze! You can even cook the wings right at your guests home! Take a look at our accessories page, there is a great lightweight travel bag for you to bring your oven to any occasion! Tangy BBQ wings: Rinse wings in cold water and drain, add salt, pepper or any additional seasonings you prefer, and mix with Sweet Baby Rays BBQ sauce". Place wings on the 4" rack, cook for 12 minutes. Flip wings and cook an additional10 minutes. Brush with remaining sauce and cook for 2 more minutes.

October
Squash is not just for decoration. Here is a festive recipe for anyone that wants to try Acorn Squash. The Nu-Wave oven not only cooks Squash up to 50% faster than a regular oven, you will also find out they come out fabulous! Acorn Squash: Cut in half and scoop out the seeds and membrane. Cut a little off the end so the halves sit upright. Place 2 tablespoons each of brown sugar, butter and a sprinkle of nutmeg and cinnamon in each half of the squash. Place on the 1" rack or the liner pan. Nu-Wave on HI for about 40 minutes or until soft or fork tender.

Pumpkin seeds turn out great in the Nu-Wave Oven. After you boil the seeds in salt water and let dry, place seeds mixed with oil and salt (or any other seasonings you prefer) directly on the liner pan and cook at power level 8 for 5-8 minutes, 5-9 times and stir in between. If you are using sauces such as Worcestershire sauce, you might want to rinse off the pan after the fourth or fifth cooking time.

November
One of the great things about the Nu-Wave Oven is how delicious and perfectly brown turkeys turn out. A lot of people have asked; how do you get the giblets out of a frozen turkey? Start cooking the turkey breast side down for the first half of the cooking process. When you flip the turkey breast side up, the insides should be thawed enough to remove the giblets.

December
For me, when I think of December, one of the first things that comes to mind is baking cookies. Did you know you can make cookies right in your Nu-Wave Oven? It is very easy to do; just place your cookies right on the liner pan, bake according to directions, when the timer goes off, simply use your 4 inch cooking rack on the side as a cooling rack. Your cookies will come perfect every time. Now you do not have to worry about forgetting to turn off the oven when you are on the last batch of cookies or wasting any extra energy every time you need to open the oven door to check on your cookies.

   How to Use

  1. Once the dome is assembled to the Power Head, lift it away from tray and rest it on the dome holder.
  2. Place food to be cooked on rack or liner pan, depending on what the cooking chart or a particular food requires.
  3. Place dome securely back on base.
  4. MODEL #20201 -- Turn POWER LEVEL DIAL to desired power setting (or leave on 10 (HI). (You can adjust the power higher or lower during cooking). To start cooking, turn timer dial to desired cooking time. You will hear it quietly start to click down the minutes. (If you need to pause the cooking time, turn dial back to ‘0’ and cooking will stop. When ready to resume cooking, turn timer dial back to the time remaining). This can be programmed up to 60 minutes at a time.
    NO PREHEATING REQUIRED!

  5. MODEL #20301 -- Nu-Wave Oven Pro -- Press COOK TIME button, enter the time required, press START button. If cooking at any power level other than HI, Press POWER LEVEL button and number required. Oven can be programmed up to 2 hours maximum if power level is on HI. Anything below HI, can be programmed up to 9 hours and 99 minutes.
    NO PREHEATING REQUIRED!

  6. Once time is elapsed, bell will ring and cooking stops.
  7. Open the dome and remove the food, or just serve it from the base tray, and ENJOY!

CLEANING INSTRUCTIONS:
Avoid scouring with abrasive cleansers.
Dome can be easily wiped with damp cloth. All parts (except for Power Head) are dishwasher safe.

   Which foods Nu-Wave the best

Frozen Turkey Cooked Turkey

  • FROZEN FOOD-The tastiest, fastest, and easiest method ever!
  • Meat, pork, and poultry turn juicy, crisply browned and utterly luscious.
  • Fish and seafood come out so moist and succulent that even if you get distracted, you can rarely overcook it.
  • Casseroles, with contents that are less than 3 inches deep, cook quickly and well. Always check for doneness at the bottom of the center area.
  • Batter recipes like cornbread and pancakes come out light and fluffy.
  • Top Crust only pies, pot pies, and cobblers brown beautifully.
  • Baked potatoes come out moist and fluffy.
  • Vegetables roast to perfection.
  • Convenience foods such as frozen breakfast, lunch pockets, or frozen dinners are fabulous and save time (approx. 25%) and energy by not preheating.
  • Multi-level cooking is easy and fun. When multi-level cooking with foods that do not take the same amount of time, place the foods that need a longer time to cook on the lower racks and when those are almost done, place the higher rack with faster cooking food above and finish both, OR reverse the process: Place softer vegetables on lower levels and longer cooking foods on 4" rack.
  • POSSIBILITIES ARE ENDLESS
